Senior Project Manager
SMB is seeking a Senior Project
Manager with a broad-based science and planning related background and
experience with the water and wastewater industry. The successful candidate
should be well-versed in issues related to hydrology and water quality, with
strong knowledge of the Central Valley and the Bay-Delta regulatory environment
and operations a plus. Successful candidates will also have strong knowledge of
and experience with CEQA and NEPA compliance. Candidates must possess effective
problem-solving ability, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work with
a team. Candidates must also have expertise in managing large-scale and complex
projects, client interaction, and demonstrated successful new business
development experience. Qualified candidates should have at least a BA/BS in
a related discipline, a minimum of 10 years of experience or alternatively a Masters
and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Senior Biologist
SMB is seeking a Senior Biologist with a strong background
and experience in conducting field surveys for a variety of state and federally
listed plant and wildlife species. The position requires a minimum education of
a B.A. /B.S. in biology, botany, ecology, or wildlife with 3 to 8 years of
experience in biology resources in the Central valley and the Bay-Delta. This position requires a strong background
and experience in conducting field surveys for a variety of state and federally
listed plant and wildlife species; experience preparing technical reports,
including biological sections for CEQA/NEPA, FESA/CESA, and CWA Section 404
documents; applicable USFWS and DFG permits for the handling of listed species,
including birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals; and strong technical
writing skills, GIS experience, and consulting experience. The applicant should
be able to work both independently and as part of a team, manage biological
resource assessment projects, and have a working knowledge of biological
databases. The successful applicant will be working on a variety of project
types, including water and wastewater infrastructure, commercial and
residential development, airports, energy resources, transportation, land
management, monitoring, and restoration.
Archeologist/Cultural Resources
Specialist
SMB is seeking an experienced archaeologist or
cultural resource specialist to work closely with Project Managers to oversee
field studies and reporting in compliance with Section 106, NEPA, CEQA, and
other regulatory frameworks. Applicants
must have an advanced degree in archeology, anthropology or closely related
field and be a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) in good standing.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of previous California
experience, excellent technical writing skills, experience supervising field
crews, demonstrated command of federal and California cultural resource
laws/regulations, experience evaluating prehistoric and/or historic resources,
and ability to travel overnight on short notice.
